Acceptance - Brooklyn Monarch, NYC - 10.18.25

The first time i saw Acceptance was at a small club in Randolph, NJ in October 7th 2005 on the take cover tour. Believe it or not this was the tour lineup; Acceptance, The Receiving End of Sirens, Cartel, Augustana, and Paramore opening the shows. I don’t remember seeing Paramore that night but i do recall my friends going crazy when Acceptance played “Permanent” we pulled the bass player into the crowd and slapped his bass strings.

This was a no skip album that hit “different” than everything going on in the music scene at the time. It was pop, it was punk, but it was not poppunk. This was not a “scene” band and not a mainstream band but they clearly should have been playing arenas and opening for national acts. Phantoms is and was a monumental album that is finally getting the world credit it deserves.

When the band announced this show at The Brooklyn Monarch, NYC my friend group chat was active seeing who was up to go.

The band did play a few songs from other albums- personally i love Collided by design but the crowd wasn’t so into it, i wish they would listen to that album is fantastic.
